Activity 1: Listen and repeat

- Have sts look at the words and sentences in part 1; Sts look

and find out differently coloured letters: f and s.

Whole class

- Teach Ss the sounds: f /f/; s /s/

Individual

- Ss listen and repeat.

- Write letters, words and sentences on the board:

F five I’m five years old.

s six I’m six years old.

- Guide Ss to read.

- Play the recording for Ss listen and repeat.

- Ask them to repeat a few times.

- Call Ss to read individually

- Have Ss find more words which have the same sounds

- Example:

/f/: fine, five.

/s/: six, seven, spell

Activity 2: Listen and write

- Tell ss that they are going to do a dictation.

- Have ss read the text in silence.

- Play the CD for ss listen and complete the sentences.

- Get ss to exchange their answers with a partner.

- Call two ss go to board to write sentences.

Pairs

- Check the answers. Then have ss read aloud.
