Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat
- Tell ss that they are going to learn how to ask and answer
about ages.
- Ss look at the pictures, identify the people and read the text in
silence.
Whole class
- Play the CD 1

- Explain new words: + old
Pairs/Groups

- Play the CD again for ss listen and read along.
- Have ss repeat dialogues in groups and pairs.
- Call some pairs practice in front of class.
Activity 2: Point and say
- Tell ss the goal of activity.
- Have ss look at the pictures in part 2 and read aloud the
prompts under the pictures.
- Elicit words to fill the gaps.
- Teach ss to count from 1 to 10:
One: 1 Two: 2
Pairs
Three: 3 Four: 4
Five: 5 Six: 6
Seven: 7 Eight: 8
Nine: 9 Ten: 10
- Write the whole sentences on the B.B and have ss repeat feew
times: How old are you, Tom?
I’m nine years old.
- Have ss practice the pictures in pairs.
- Call some pairs to act out the task in front of class.
Activity 3: Let's talk
- Tell ss that they are going to practise more with their friends to
ask and answer about age.
- Have ss prctise, using their names and ages.
Pairs
- T do with a st as a model:
T: How old are you, Tam?
St: I’m eight years old.
- Ask ss to work in pairs in few minutes. Then call some pairs to
perform in front of class.
