5. Conclusion

Market of organic products in Bulgaria is undeveloped. One of the reasons as well as a consequence of the nascent state of organic products’ market is unstructured supply chain of the organic products. In-depth interviews with organic supply chain participants reveals the main shortcomings of the existing supply chains in the country and the most important measures stimulating improvement of the status of production, market and supply chain. Some of the measures suggested by the respondents are stronger horizontal and vertical integration, stimulating consumption in public institutions, increased information and promotion campaign, state support for producers of organic products.
