CONCLUSION

This part states the overall conclusion of the investigation on studying English grammar for TOEIC exam by Dong Thap University students. The study is to investigate the reality of learning English grammar by students‟ TOEIC classes and the problems they encounter and to find out solutions for these. The study comprises three parts. The first part is literature review in which the researcher bases on and develops the study. It is about the methods of learning grammar which support the students a lot during the process of conquering TOEIC exam. In next part, the methodology of the study is presented clearly and specifically; for example, the research questions, the research participants and the data collection instruments. To serve for the purposes of the study, the questionnaire, TOEIC course book analysis and TOEIC test analysis were employed to collect needed data and the results of the research reveal in the last part. The result of the study proves that the very low number of students passing the TOEIC exam is for their negative aptitude to English grammar and their ineffective learning method as well as their wrong way of practicing them. Therefore, some solutions are proposes to help them in learning and practicing English grammar. Specifically, the students should follow the steps of identifying grammar for error correction and the strategies for learning grammar that the researcher mentioned in earliest section. It is expected that some recommendations the researcher proposed more or less will help the students manage to overcome their problems during the process of learning English grammar as well as bring the successful result of TOEIC exam to them. The thesis has been completed with greatest efforts. However, it sti ll contains some limitations that should be noted. There was a limitation regarding the participants of the thesis. There were only 114 TOEIC class students that made up the very small rate of those of Dong Thap University to be surveyed, which lessened fairly its accuracy and objective. Therefore, the researcher would like desirably to receive much positive ideas from readers. Although the thesis found out the reality and the problems of learning English grammar of the students as well as some solutions proposed, it can not 51 cover all aspects relating to the factors affecting learner‟s language acquisition, thus this study is an orientation for further studies. 52
