3. After you get home from the store, you unpack your new computer and printer.
You install Windows XP Professional, and you want to install your printer. You
want to set up the printer as your default printer. During the installation, you are
not prompted to use the printer as your default printer for all Windows-based
applications. You know you have seen this option at work when you install local
printers. Why can you not see it on your home computer?
The first time that you add a printer to a computer, this option does not appear. The printer is
automatically selected as the default printer.
