Helen Keller was born in 1880. The next year she got sick, which made her blind
and deaf. Her parents found her a teacher who tried to teach Helen to read and
write.
When Helen was eight years old, she went to a special school in Boston where she
learned how to speak and “listen” with her hands. Then at the age of 19, Helen
passed the entrance exam to a famous school in Massachusetts, and graduated
from college in 1914.
Helen wrote many books about education and politics. She visited many parts of
the world, and try to help blind people as well as poor people. She became a
famous writer and speaker. Helen died in June, 1968. She was a very famous
person.
