Mary came to Africa two years ago because she wanted to teach people about modern health care.

She will be leaving in about two months; she wishes she could stay longer, but it’s time for her to go

home. Her work here has been very interesting. She is learning so much. She always wishes that there

would be more hours in the day so that she could do more. Maybe it’s silly, but she worries about what

will happen to the villagers after she leaves. She wishes her students remembered all the things she has

tried to teach them. She’s become so close to the people here, she wishes she could take them home with

her! But of course that’s impossible. She wishes more people joined the Peace Corps. It’s so rewarding,

and there’s so much work to be done.
