Overview of the Automated System Recovery Wizard

The Automated System Recovery Wizard is one of the three wizards provided by theBackup Utility (see Figure 20-8). Automated System Recovery (ASR) is intended toallow you to restore your computer after a major failure. The Automated System Recov-ery Wizard creates a backup in two parts:

A floppy disk (referred to as a system recovery disk) that contains hard drive con-figuration information

A full backup of your local system partition on tape or as a file located on a net-work serverAfter creating the system recovery disk and full backup, you can boot your computer byusing the disk and run an automated system recovery process to restore your computer.
