Marie Curie, the Polish-born physicsist and chemist, was a courageous and

determined woman. She was born on November 7

pursue her interest in science. Living in poverty, she still managed to graduate at the top of

the class. She met Pierre Curie shortly after graduation and married him a year later.

Together, Pierre and Marie formed the most famous husband-and-wife partnership in
