April, 1979 : was selected as part of the sixth international crew for the

Inter cosmos programme

July 23th, 1980 : was lifted off into space on board Soyuz 37.

July 31, 1980: completed 142 orbits, return to Earth after being in space

for 7 days, 20 hours and 20 minutes.
