6. Reading (2,5ms)B - Read the passage carefully. For a long time jeans were worn only for physical work, but in the 1960s US society changed andyoung people began to question traditional attitudes to dress. Jeans were a symbol of these changesand became very popular. Now people of any age wear jeans because they are comfortable, practicaland do not cost much. In the US they can be appropriate for all but the most formal occasions. Manypeople wear jeans to work, to church or to go out in the evening. Jeans can be made more or lessformal, depending on what is worn with them. With sports shoes and a work shirt, they are suitablefor going shopping; with a silk shirt and high-heeled shoes for women, or a jacket and tie for men, they can be worn to a restaurant. In Britain some restaurants and wine bars do not allow in peoplewho are wearing jeans, and some companies do not like their staff to wear jeans for work.
