24. Chú ý các trường hợp sau:

- Vị trí danh từ và tính từ

+ This/ that is a green hat./These/ those are green hats.

+ This/ that hat is green./These/ those hats are green.

- Vị trí ngày tháng:

Ex: November 20

is Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.

Vietnamese Teachers’ day is November 20

./ the twentieth of November.

- Câu cảm thán:

+ What a nice girl!

+ What terrible weather!

- Câu đề nghị:

+ What about …….( động từ thêm ing)? / Why don’t we ……..? ( động từ nguyên

mẫu) Let’s ………( động từ nguyên mẫu) - I’d love to/ That a good idea. or Sorry,

I’m busy

Ex: Why don’t we go out for dinner? – Yes, I’d love to.

+ Would you mind ….. ( động từ thêm ing)?

Ex:

- So sánh hơn

+ tính từ ngắn (1 âm tiết) thêm er - than

Ex: Tony is tall but his brother is taller than him.

+ “more” đứng trước tính từ dài (2 âm tiết trở lên) - than

Ex: The red dress is more expensive than the blue one. (one thay thế cho dress)

- So sánh nhất

+ “the” đứng trước tính từ ngắn (1 âm tiết) thêm est

Ex: Nam is the tallest in my class.

+ “the” most đứng trước tính từ dài (2 âm tiết trở lên)

Ex: Ho Chi Minh is the most excited city in Vietnam

- “but” nằm giữa 2 câu phản nghĩa nhau:

Ex: Jane studies very hard and can swim very well but she can’t ride a bicycle.

- “and” nằm giữa 2 câu hoặc 2 từ cùng loại hoặc gần ý:

Ex: A young man called Phillips is traveling by bicycle and visiting a lot of

interesting places in Vietnam

- “between ……and” (and nối giữa 2 từ số ít) or “between” (sau nó là từ số nhiều)

Ex: My house is between the bakery and the hotel.

Ex: I am between my parents.
