Practice 3: Download the latest Dynamic Update package from Microsoft, andconfigure a shared folder on your network with the Dynamic Upgrade files.Perform an unattended installation that retrieves the Dynamic Update filesfrom your local share rather than from Microsoft’s Web site.

Practice 4: Learn about cloning Windows XP Professional computers by usingthe SysPrep utility. If you have non-Microsoft imaging software available, usethe image created to install Windows XP Professional.

Practice 5: Build an RIS infrastructure by installing and configuring a Windows2000 Server with RIS and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Builda Windows XP Professional system, use the Remote Installation PreparationWizard (Riprep.exe) to prepare the system, and then use non-Microsoft soft-ware to create an image of the system. Upload the image to the RIS server. Cre-ate a Remote Boot Disk or use a Preboot Execution Environment (PXE)–capablecomputer to boot to the network, and then run a RIS-based installation. If youdo not have access to non-Microsoft imaging software, you can copy the Win-dows XP Professional installation CD-ROM to the RIS server (the setup processwill be similar to a normal CD-ROM-based installation).Important For the following task, you should complete at least Practice 1.
