Ian Fleming was born on May 28th
1908 in Scotland. His father died when he was only nine years old and his mother sent him to a school in England called Eton.When he lrft school, he joined the military college in Sandhurst. But when he finished his studies he decided that he didn’t want to join the army. So he went on a tour of Europe to improve his languages. When he returned to England, he started working as a journalist.During the Second World War he worked for the Royal Navy intelligence Division as a spy. He took part in a number of secret missions between 1939 and 1945. During one of these missions he visited Jamaica and fell in love with the island.Afler the war finished, he bought a house there and wrote his first James Bond novel, Golden Eye. He married Anne Rothermere and they had one son, caspar. Fleming died on August 12th
1964 after a long illness.
