things. Man operates machines and motor vehicles that fill the air with

disturbing noise. They also dirty the air with gases and smoke. Badly

polluted air can cause illness and even death. Man ruins natural beauty by

scattering junk and litter on the land and in the water. They poison the water

with chemicals and other substances. Polluted water kills fish and other

marine life. The damage the soil with too many fertilizers and pesticides.

Pollution of soil reduces the amount of land that is available for growing

food. Environmental pollution also brings ugliness to man’s naturally

beautiful world.

It’s time people and governments all over the world did something

about the pollution problem. People should stop using many things that

harmful to the environment. Governments would have to pass and enforce

laws that require individuals and businesses to stop or cut down on certain

polluting activities.
