A week ago, Mr. Brown went for a picnic in the country. It was early spring, so they
thought it was too cold to go to the seaside. They set off early after breakfast and drove
about thirty miles into the country until they came to their favorite place. Then the young
people went into the wood to pick wild flowers. Mrs. Brown sat quietly by the stream in the
sunshine while her husband was fishing in the lake. At half past four, they put the plates,
cups, saucers, and other things back into the basket and went back to their car. They got
home at about half past five.
